Our Story

All Started With A Love Story

Baron & Diego was inspired by Sebastian Baron and Diego Valenti, two friends who first met as merchants back in 1873.

Maria, whose childhood was filled with stories about her great grand father’s, Sebastian Baron, expeditions was always fixated on keeping the legacy and the trade of her family alive however she did not know how. Although she was drawn to art & history from her early childhood, she decided to pursue a different career.

After Maria met her husband Henry back in 2016, she shared with him her family story and he insisted that she follows her lifelong dream. She started tapping to her artistic side and began drawing again, until the day she realized her patterns were ready and a door was wide open for her to bridge between her passion for art and her family trade with the help of Henry.

While Maria worked on translating the art she loved into wearable pieces, Henry was rekindling her great grandfather’s connection with another friend he met during his travels in the Far East who specialized in traditional ancient silk screening, whose family inherited the trade and made sure it remains authentic to preserve their heritage and its individuality.

We are committed to providing quality and originality in each scarf we design, resulting in dozens of new designs each year and thousands of satisfied people creating memories with our pieces.

Inspired by great artist and adapted to suit a modern era, our handcrafted signature designs aim to bridge between the vintage and the avant-garde. Baron & Diego evolved into what it is today after traveling the world in search of inspirational timeless design and artisans. Nowadays, we design our scarves in Barcelona, print it by traditional silk screening in China, on 100% merino wool sourced from a family owned ranch adopting a cruelty free policy in Australia.
